When you create a GiftLynx account, we collect your name and email address. When you use the app, we also collect information you choose to provide, such as wish list items, gift recipient profiles, interests, and birthdays. We do not collect payment information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the GiftLynx service
  • Enable gift coordination features with connected friends
  • Generate personalized gift suggestions via our Lynx Picks AI feature
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, invitations)
  • Send push notifications about friend activity (if you enable them)

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is stored in US-based servers. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and row-level security to protect your data.

4. Cookies and Affiliate Tracking

GiftLynx uses cookies for authentication and session management. We may also use third-party affiliate tracking services that set cookies when you click product links. These cookies are used to track purchases for commission purposes and do not identify you personally. You can opt out of affiliate tracking by disabling third-party cookies in your browser settings.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as necessary to operate the service (e.g., with Supabase for data storage, Resend for email delivery, Expo for push notifications). We may disclose information if required by law.

Wish lists you choose to share publicly or with friends are visible to the people you share them with. You control the visibility of each wish list.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Children's Privacy

GiftLynx is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email. Your continued use of GiftLynx after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
